Wood is recruiting for a Safety Systems Engineer to join its Iraq business unit focusing on ensuring safe design, implementation, and maintenance of Safety Instrumented Systems for a Major Onshore Brownfield Project in Basra, Iraq on 6/1 work schedule.

This role is a full-time on-site role in Basra, Iraq with travel requirement.

Job Objectives:

Ensure safe design, implementation, and maintenance of Safety Instrumented Systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute Functional Safety Lifecycle activities
  • SIL assessments and validation
  • SIS programming and testing
  • Safety documentation and audits

Expected:

  • Minimum Experience: 5+ years
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • IEC 61511
  • SIS platforms (brand & type evidence required)
  • Functional safety accreditation
