Job Description
Tasks
- Day-to-day management of the logistics function, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely management of all transportation modes.
- Prepare and maintain a delivery schedule and communicate to all relevant departments.
- Ensure the integrity and timely preparation and authorization of Import/Export documentation such as Bills of Lading, Commercial invoices, and Packing lists.
- Investigate lost/damaged product situations and creatively solve issues to mitigate losses.
- Ensure correct Inco terms are used for shipments and provide guidance to Sales and Procurement in optimal Inco term use.
- Responsible for export documentation and data for all shipments.
- Responsible for the execution of export documentation requirements for shipments to destinations.
- Ensure that all documentation meets export regulations.
- Coordinate with customers in receiving bookings via email.
- Place bookings with freight forwarders and release bookings to customers.
- Receive shipping instructions from customers and submit shipping instructions to freight forwarders.
- Update shipment information inthe system
- Handle daily correspondence (emails/phone calls) from customers, solve arising problems after shipment on board, and escalate issues to related parties when needed.
- Strong in problem-solving for sea transportation with customers and shipping lines.
- Prepare and manage all the necessary documents required to complete the export and import process.
- Recommending the best freight forwarder based on historical performance.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in procurement, with 5 Years in export logistics within a heavy industrial manufacturing background, is a must.
- In-depth knowledge of international shipping regulations, INCO terms, and customs procedures.
- Experience in import and export customs regulations.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, and customer-focused.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, and a professional ERP User.
