The Workshop Controller is responsible for efficiently managing daily workshop operations, ensuring optimal technician productivity, job control, quality of repairs, and on-time vehicle delivery while maintaining high customer satisfaction and safety standards.

Job Description

• Plan, control, and monitor daily workshop workflow
• Allocate jobs to technicians based on skill level and availability
• Monitor job progress, turnaround time, and promised delivery dates
• Ensure proper use of Autoline (job opening, punch in/out, job closing)
• Control technician productivity and efficiency.
• Coordinate with Service Advisors to manage customer expectations
• Ensure all jobs follow manufacturer repair standards and processes
• Conduct final quality checks before vehicle delivery
• Control workshop housekeeping, safety, and 6S standards
• Report daily workshop performance to Service Management
• Reduce comebacks, rework, and delays
• Support parts availability coordination with Parts Department

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Automotive / Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
• 5+ years experience in automotive workshop operations
• 2+ years experience as Workshop Controller / Senior Technician / Team Leader
• Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems
• Experience with DMS systems
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
